I know it seems as though everything around us is just getting worse. More Covid-19 cases, more isolation, more people losing their jobs, 401k’s getting destroyed, more stress, worry, fear and anxiety. It’s hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel right now…I get it. Every time I turn on the news I feel fear strike again. I’ve actually never watched the news before for this exact reason. The news is just filled with negativity and sadness. When’s the last time you turned off the news station after watching it and felt happiness, joy, laughter? Yeah…you can’t remember right?
With all of the negativity around us, I want to show you ONE thing you can do during Covid-19 to uplift your spirits and find your center again.
I’m a firm believer that everything that happens to us is neutral until WE give it a positive or negative meaning. We decide if an experience is good or bad. It’s all in your perception. Now hear me out for a second, I know it’s easier to look at this situation as a total gut punch. However, I promise you it’s how you’re looking at it. This is all in your perspective and I’m going to challenge you HARD today. I’m asking you to try to shift your perception to find the GOOD in this quarantined situation we’re all in right now.
Let’s look at the facts. You’re isolated at home for the most part. You’re quarantined until further notice. You’re staying away from groups of people as much as possible. You’re stuck at home trying to entertain yourself. You’re only leaving your house to get food, take out and you’ve already binged watch every episode of your shows.
What else is there to do?
The consensus is that you have more FREE time on your hands and I believe the ONE thing you should be doing during Covid-19 is…
Getting back to knowing yourself again.
Before Covid-19 your life was FAST. You were in your routine of work, weekends, run here, run there, that it was natural for you to lose a sense of YOU throughout it all.
When’s the last time you sat down and practiced stillness?
When’s the last time you took a moment to reflect on what you’re grateful for?
When’s the last time you paused for 10 minutes to meditate and breathe?
When’s the last time you were able to clear your thoughts and write down your goals?
When’s the last time you took time for you?
Well here’s your moment. You can take this extra time to get back to truly showing yourself and your mind some much needed self-care. The one thing you should be doing during Covid-19 is take time to create new habits around getting to know yourself on a deeper level.
So you can continue to look at this Covid-19 situation as a negative or you can demand to find the positives coming from it.
Take today to do ONE thing that’s going to UPLIFT your spirits…ONE thing that’s going to enable you to see the positives from this situation. I promise you the positives are there, you just need to start choosing to see them.
Start creating a morning routine that’s going to EMPOWER you rather than fill your mind and soul with fear. When you start your day with positive and uplifting thoughts the entire rest of your day changes…you owe this to yourself.
