To me, unstructured workouts include physical movement that would not be considered one of your typical gym sessions, runs, group fitness classes, etc. – an activity you didn’t necessarily plan for.
The warmer weather has gotten many more of us outside. This time in early spring can involve spring cleanups in the yard, family soccer games, riding bicycles around the neighborhood, practicing spring sports, or something unique to your family that involves movement.
You may always start bringing your pets out for long walks and/or interaction with friends and neighbors.
If you find yourself with less time for your standard workouts, bringing the kids to their weekly practices at a field complex can open up time to walk around the field and watch the practice rather than just sit in the bleachers.
Take note of how you feel after some spring clean up or riding a bike after a few months off the bike. Are you actually sore, or just a little achy?
If you have been working out all winter, your body is surely thanking you for it! This the time to reap the benefits of all that indoor exercise that we have endured!
Go out and enjoy the weather with all that added fitness.
Utilizing a fitness wearable will also track these increased bouts of activities! Let’s keep ramping up our outdoor activities and enjoy expending those calories!
